During the month of May, Xlent participants across the North, West and South of Adelaide have enjoyed a series of exciting ‘come and try’ days run in conjunction with our sister company, Wilderness Escape Outdoor Adventures (WEOA). The aim of these days was to create opportunities for our participants that they might not usually experience, such as paddling a kayak or riding a bike, and introducing them to the wonderful world of outdoor education.
Participants were supported in double kayaks as they paddled around the gorgeous waters of the Warren and Happy Valley reservoirs, making the most of the last bit of South Australia’s gorgeous Autumn weather! Our participants were able to ride a trike that has been custom-built with the needs of people with disability in mind, making them safer and more accessible to ride. As well as cycling and kayaking, participants also explored the reservoirs by foot and tried their hand at fishing as well.
Thank you very much to the qualified outdoor educators from WEOA for supporting our participants to experience their world! Subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to hear about our next ‘come and try’ sessions.
